Next week we head off on a trip I’ve been both looking forward to and scared to reach for ages. Why do I have conflicted feelings? Because it’s a trip to celebrate my big 3-0! I cannot believe I am turning 30 next week… I have so many feelings around this number but the closer I get the more positive those feelings are becoming. I plan to share more about that in another post. For now I want to share my packing guide for Amalfi Coast – our first official summer trip of the season! I wanted my outfits to be comfy and summery so I’ve chosen flowy pieces in light, natural fabrics.
This light packing guide for Amalfi Coast is perfect for early summer days. Being the very beginning of summer the weather is forecast to be 22-25°C (70-77°F) for our trip. If the humidity is anything like Santorini last year these temps will feel a little warmer than they sound though! I’ve also read that the water is warm enough to swim in from early June – late August. So most of my pieces are light and summery and I am packing two pairs of swimmers. If you want to be more minimal you could just go with one pair. I’ve chosen two pairs of shoes, both flat – one super comfy pair for walking/hiking days and one more dressy. I’m also packing a light weight wool cardigan for the mornings and evenings when it’s a little fresher.
AMALFI – COASTAL
I’ve put together this light packing guide for Amalfi for 6 full days (with travel days on either side), which will include exploring villages, beaches and some easy hiking.
KEEPING CLOTHES FRESH
Because I have quite a few pieces that need to be ironed I will be bringing my Steamery Travel Steamer with me on this trip. If you know your accommodation will have an iron and ironing board that’s perfect, but if you are staying somewhere more boutique (like an Airbnb) an iron is not always guaranteed. The Steamery Travel Steamer is amazing because it doesn’t take up much room in your suitcase and you can steam your clothes to get rid of any packing wrinkles, or to refresh them after a day of wearing.
Below I’ve put together the outfits I plan to wear each day for our six day trip. I like to decide on my outfits before I pack so that there is zero stress getting dressed each day. You can easily do the same by laying out your outfits and getting a photo of them on your phone to look back at. To make things even simpler you can even put them into a ‘travel outfits’ album so the photos don’t get lost amongst all the travel snaps you’ll be getting!

On our first full day we will be hiking the Path of the Gods along the coastline, so I’ve chosen comfy shorts and my trekking sandals.
Day two is MY 30TH BIRTHDAY – Positano is at the top of my list so I want to spend my birthday exploring the streets and hanging out at the beach.
Our plans for day three include visiting the cute fishing village of Praiano and the Green Grotto nearby.
Day four we have left open to visit an island or visit Amalfi and Atrani.
On day five we will be visiting Pompeii, so I’m opting for casual and comfy.
For our final day we will be taking it easy and exploring the mountain top village of Ravello.
