Here we are in 2019! Honestly I’m feeling a little behind the times, because I am starting off the year with a post about podcasts… I’m way behind the curve with this one but last year I discovered just how much I love them. They always leave me feeling refreshed, inspired and like I’ve just had a coffee and chat with my besties. After mentioning I have some favourites over on Instagram Stories the other day I had lots of messages requesting a list. So as promised here it is – a motley, first-draft list of the podcasts I’ve discovered that keep me coming back for more. Oh and you’ll find a few tips for fitting more listening time into your week at the end!
The best podcasts to inspire you this year
For when you feel like chatting with friends / Hosted by Instagram influencer Jaci Marie Smith and certified Health Care Coach Chelsey Jade Curtis listening to the What We Said podcast is like sitting down for a good old chat with friends. These two have such natural conversation you feel like you are in the room with them and they cover some really relevant mental health topics, as well as talking everyday life, dating, marriage, motherhood and entrepreneurship.
For when you feel like meeting inspiring women / A Podcast series brought to you by online content creators Lily Pebbles and Anna Newton (I personally love Anna’s blog and YouTube Channel). Lily and Anna basically welcome a whole range of really cool women onto their sofa and talk about the cool stuff they are doing.
For when you need a happy boost / Hosted by Lori Harder, an expert in the field of fitness, transformational work, mindfulness, and self-love. Lori’s episodes focus on finding your happy place in life with lots of tips, tricks and inspiring words. She also talks about the power of positive thinking and manifestation in a very down to earth and relatable way, which I LOVE.
For when you need to know you aren’t the only one breaking the status quo / This is a fairly new one (and I have a feeling it will do really well) and co-hosted by one of the first Insta-friends I ever made back when I started getting serious about my Instagram account – Jessica Rose Williams. Jessica and Kayte Ferris are friends who both have a passion for treading their own path to a life a little different to the norm. They cover topics ranging from mindset, lifestyle, creativity and all the roadblocks that come with a decision to exist outside of the norm.
For when you need down to earth biz and social media advice / This is one of the very first podcasts I started listening to and I was hooked right away. Hosted by Sara Tasker of Me and Orla Hashtag Authentic is a down to earth, honest and totally relatable podcast focusing on Instagram, business, self-development and self-love. Apart from all the wise words and amazing advice I also just love Sara’s accent – she has one of those voices that is oh so soothing to listen to.
For when you need to shake things up enthusiastic biz advice / Now this is one podcast that really packs a punch and feels quite different to all of my other favourites. Gary Vaynerchuk is an incredibly successful, confident and outspoken guy who isn’t afraid to tell you what he thinks. His enthusiasm for entrepreneurship is infectious and his podcast is always full of interesting insights. If I’m feeling flat this is my go to podcast.
For when you need to get inspired to hustle / Hosted by Jenna Kutcher is a self-made millionaire who started her empire with a $300 camera. Her workshop style business podcast is always a treat to listen in to and I’ve learnt so many valuable lessons about growing my business, what to focus on and how to do it. Jenna is so authentic and she shares so much valuable information as well as helping you keep that ‘chase your dreams’ spark alive.
For when you want more insight on sustainable fashion / And finally something a little outside the lifestyle and entrepreneurship categories – the Conscious Chatter podcast dives deep into the world of ethical fashion. Host Kestrel Jenkins talks to industry disruptors who are bringing ethics and sustainability to the forefront of the fashion industry. I’ll admit I only recently discovered this one, but I have plans to listen in to this one a lot more. Especially because this year I have a goal to transition my Capsule Wardrobes to being full of ethical and sustainable brands.
For when you need advice and reassurance about your creative biz / Ok I know I said Concious Chatter was the last one on my list but I literally started listening to Letters from a Hopeful Creative this morning and just HAD to add it to this list before I hit publish. Co hosted by Sara Tasker (who is the main host of Hashtag Authentic, which is also on this list) and Jen Carrington (another amazing creative business owner), this podcasts takes letters that have been written to them and answers loads of interesting questions – most of which I’ve found myself wondering about too! You can even submit your own letter on their website for a chance to get your question answered.
