As you know I’m slightly obsessed with flowers… just slightly. So living in Europe now, every new month is very exciting for me because a new flower is in season! And yes you guessed it, this month it’s sunflowers. Last weekend, when I realised we had a sunflower field very close by, I dragged Jason along on the bicycles to check it out with me. We are still looking to buy our own bikes. So at the moment we are using the Zug Tourismus free bike hire. It’s so convenient (and did I mention free?!) , you just leave a form of ID with the hire shop and you can keep the bike all day, as long as it is back before they close. Perfect if you are just visiting or new to Switzerland like us! Head here for more information on locations and opening times.

The really fun part about this sunflower field is that it is ‘pick your own’, with an honesty box system. It’s actually one of the things we love so much about living in Switzerland, it is so safe and everyone is so honest. There are even shops that will leave their stock out when they are closed and just ask you to put money in the letterbox. It takes a little getting used to how trustworthy everyone is!
