My recent move from the summer heat of Australia to the rather chilly winter in Switzerland has meant that I have had to seriously up my coat game. This need for a new coat or two (or three) together with my existing weakness for dreamy blush tones could only have had one result – the pale pink coat. There are loads of pink coat options to choose from for any budget, so it’s a good idea to have a list of must-haves and definite no-nos before you start your quest to find ‘the one’.
When I started looking for my dream pink coat, my must-haves were that it needed to be a dusty pink and have a rough teddy bear texture to keep things more neutral and to avoid my no-nos of being too cutsey or girly. But no matter what the fashion trend it’s always about making it yours and fitting it in with your own style. So if you love cutsey and girly then make those your must-haves and rock it!
3 simple tips to achieving pink coat perfection
- For a more versatile piece choose a dusty pink – it will work perfectly as a neutral when teaming it with brighter colours but will be a pop of pink with black, white and denim tones
- Dark denim and black accessories will create an edgier look, and help you avoid looking like a giant marshmallow – that isn’t fun for anybody
- Pair with a chunky knitted sweater, fluffy scarf and boots to keep cosy in winter and a with a white tee, ripped denim and nude pointed flats to take you into spring
