Tomorrow we are heading to Poland for five days, and after eight whole weeks without traveling I couldn’t be more excited. We’ve never been before and will be staying in Warsaw and doing a day-trip to Krakow. This is the first time I’ve put together a carry-on only wardrobe since starting my capsule wardrobe and it’s made it so much easier. Packing used to a painstaking process for me. One that took way too long. Jase is normally done in five minutes and I take about two hours… to pack one tiny suitcase! But guess what? This time I beat him!
This autumn carry-on only wardrobe is perfect for the cooler months of the year. Packing for the cold with bulky items is always more challenging especially when you are taking carry-on only. My biggest tip is to make sure you wear your heaviest shoes, sweater and coat on the plane – that way you save the most space and weight in your bag.
I’ve put together this carry-on only wardrobe for a city getaway to Poland. We will be taking it easy and exploring Warsaw for a couple of days and also doing a day-trip to Krakow! The weather forecast is looking chilly so I’ve included lots of layering pieces, cosy sweaters, warm coats and a few cute accessories like my pom-pom beanie and hair bow.

Below I’ve put together the outfits I plan to wear over our five day trip. I’m a fan of doing this before we leave. That way there is zero stress getting dressed each day. You can easily do the same by laying out your outfits and getting a photo of them on your phone to look back at. To make things even simpler you can even put them into a ‘travel outfits’ album so the photos don’t get lost amongst all the travel snaps you’ll be getting!
Have your tried packing an autumn carry-on only wardrobe and if so what are your carry-on essentials for an autumn city break? I’d love to hear below.
